crushed tomatoes
tomato paste
water (plus more to reduce)
garlic, minced
Olive oil
Flat leaf parsley (optional)
Pour a the olive oil into a large stock pot. Add garlic and onion to saute on a very low flame. Cook until it starts to brown.
Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and water. Stir and add in chopped parsley.
Simmer sauce on a very low flame for at least 2 hours. Reduce with 1 cup of water every hour.
Stir frequently throughout. Let the sauce thicken.
